Prescription for happiness...follow your inner compass
Tired and hungry, we stopped for a snack on our bike ride along the Old Railway in Algonquin Provincial Park. We parked our bikes at the top of the dam and walked down beside the riverbed. My kids jumped onto a couple of big rocks for a rest and immediately noticed fish battling the current, swimming upstream towards the dam. We stayed for a while to enjoy the show while admiring their perseverance.
At home in the city, I often feel like one of those fish...trying to swim upstream, battling the daily grind. I have to take a step back, and allow my inner compass to show me the way. It always leads me back to my happy place, nature.
